Sacred Laundromats
Did you know that it’s easier to own a Volvo than it is a washing machine? It sounds crazy, especially considering the tremendous price difference between the two. In reality, many people in Sweden don’t have enough real estate to install a washing machine, which is why they rely on good-old-fashioned laundromats.
However, laundromats aren’t like those in the States. They can be packed during the weekends, and there are very specific guidelines on how to use them. For instance, when you’re done using a washer and dryer, it’s your duty to clean it out. Leaving lint and anything else in the machines is a good way to be shunned by Swedish society.
