6 Hours of Work
In the United States and in many other countries, employees are obligated to work from 8 or 9 AM to 4 or 5 PM. That’s about 7.5 hours of work, plus 30 minutes for lunch. In Sweden, they’re serious about their work, but they don’t spend nearly as much time in the office as us.

Many companies in Sweden have mandated six-hour workdays. While this isn’t a nationwide policy, more and more Swedish companies are following suit in terms of reducing daily work hours. It really is no wonder why Sweden continuously tops the list of the happiest countries on the face of the Earth!
