Maternity and Paternity Leave
We’ve already spoken about how much more awesome Sweden is at dealing with the whole treat-your-employees-like-human-beings things. They get over a month of paid leave, and some people only have to work six hours every day, which is absolutely bonkers by US standards.
But to make matters even better for Swedes (and worse for us), the dads in Sweden get paternity leave for 480 straight days! That means they can disappear for over an entire year, with pay, to help around at home with their kids! And here we are, admiring our kids from a photograph we snapped of them five years ago while they don’t even know what we look like…
