Over 50% of Lush Green Forests
If you look for pictures of Sweden on Google Images, it’ll show all sorts of beautiful skylines and colorful buildings. Those pictures do not do the country any justice. If you were to magically appear in any random part of the country, there’s a good chance that you’d land in a forest.
In fact, over 50% (closer to 70%, actually) is covered in lush green forests. And you bet that those forests are protected as much as possible to prevent deforestation and littering. The over-23-million hectares of greenery is protected by the Swedish Forestry Act of 1903—one of the first government-enforced environmental legislations on the planet!
