Dangers of Drinking
Everyone knows about the dangers of alcohol, but not many people actually take those warnings to heart. That’s not the case in Sweden, though. During the American Prohibition, Swedish lawmakers debated on whether they would follow suit. Eventually, booze lobbyists won, but they had to compromise.
While alcohol is legally sold in Sweden, purchasing alcohol is monitored strictly. To purchase alcohol, you need to possess a state-issued license, known as the Systembolaget. There are also poster warnings about the hazards of drinking. Also, retailers cannot give booze discounts so as to deter people from partaking. That actually sounds pretty neat.
