#14: A Lesson You Can Chew On
We all know chewing gum in school is a big no-no. Gum can leave a gooey mess if dropped or improperly disposed of, so it’s understandable why teachers hate it. They’ve been fighting this bad habit for years, trying to come up with clever ways to discourage gum chewing. Perhaps the most well-known punishment is being forced to stick your gum to the end of your nose for the day.
Mr. Adonizio finally seems to have come up with a sure-fire way to prevent gum from ever entering his classroom. Of course, the idea of chewing somebody else’s old, chewed-up gum is utterly revolting; even kids can understand that. But it makes us wonder: did anybody ever find out the hard way whether he was bluffing?
