The Truth About Turkey
Turkey is often blamed for the post-Thanksgiving naps we all love to take because it contains tryptophan. This amino acid makes your body produce serotonin and melatonin, which is why you may feel sleepy after eating a bunch of turkey. But there may be another, way more obvious, reason you need a nap after eating dinner.
Twitter user Sarcastic Mommy lives up to her name with this tweet. She states that it’s probably not the turkey making you sleepy, it’s the alcohol. Be real with yourself. How many drinks do you usually have to help you get through Thanksgiving day with your family? If it’s a lot, we get it. There are only so many times you can muster an enthusiastic answer to the question, “So what are you up to these days?”
