This Venn Diagram is a Circle
There is a certain genre of person who loves to rename holidays and businesses. These people are usually “the embarrassing dad” or “the fun aunt.” Musician Patrick Monahan from the band Train pointed this out. He gave such perfect examples that we’re surprised we didn’t realize this pattern sooner. He tweeted that the Venn diagram of people who say “Turkey Day” and “Mickey D’s” is just a perfect circle– meaning they’re the same people.
Some of you might feel personally attacked. It’s okay if this tweet made you realize that you are the embarrassing family member. Embrace it! Lean into calling Thanksgiving “Turkey Day” and never regret if a “Mickey D’s” slips out unintentionally. The world would be a much more boring place if everyone was the same, right?
