You Heard It Here: Insects Aren’t Animals
When someone says the word “animals,” what pops into your head? A fluffy, playful puppy or kitten? The King of the Jungle, the lion, with its fierce roar and flowing mane? Or does your mind conjure up a creepy crawly with slimy skin and more legs than you care to count?
Whether you’re a fan of insects or not, they are animals, and not by some technicality. According to Wikipedia, “Insects are the most diverse group of animals; they include more than a million described species and represent more than half of all known living organisms.” This info was sourced from the Australian Biological Resources Study and the University of Michigan, which is clearly not where this teacher is employed.
