For example, in 2015, Emma Stone was cast to play a Chinese-Hawaiian-Swedish woman. History textbooks in the west also have a bad habit of lightening up illustrations of historically darker skinned people.

These instances have caused rightful outrage online, but this person missed the mark by a thousand miles when they called out Rami Malek as a “white guy playing an Egyptian.” Although Malek grew up in California as a first-generation American, he is a full-blooded Egyptian, and Egyptian Arabic was his first language. What more did the commenter want?
