While everyone else is getting into the holiday spirit, Charlie Brown is feeling down in the dumps. Lucy suggests he direct a neighborhood Christmas play, but his efforts go unnoticed and unappreciated when he opts for a real but pathetic Christmas tree as the stage centerpiece.
