When you think about it, a cruise ship is making its way through the ocean, carrying a finite amount of people, equipment, and resources. Sure, there might be a lot of people on a ship, but it is more about quantity than quality when it comes to an emergency situation.
Every crew member that is hired to work on a ship has to go through rigorous training in order to be able to respond well in potential emergency situations. Most workers probably think that they don’t need this extra training until they are put in a situation where they need to fix something really serious.
