#25 Being a Guest Editor for the British Vogue
Media outlets completely lost it when they learned that Meghan would be guest editing the September 2019 issue of British Vogue. Some commentators claimed that Meghan was being “uppity” and “idiotic,” despite reportedly only having the problem after putting out their hot takes. Meghan was criticized for “wading into politics” as well. “Royals don’t guest-edit magazines; celebrities do,” according to one columnist. An understandable position, except it completely disregards the facts.

It was acceptable that Kate, as a member of the royal family, should take over Huffington Post UK for a day in 2016 to promote the mental health of children. What about King Charles, who served as guest editor of Country Life magazine not once but twice, and who frequently broached divisive political topics like global warming in his remarks?
