Kim Basinger then
Kim Basinger started out as a model during the late sixties and early seventies. She had a promising career as a model and was even offered a contract with the esteemed Ford Modeling Agency, which she eventually turned down to pursue an acting career. In the mid-seventies, she left New York City and moved to Los Angeles to become an actress.
Since her acting debut in 1976, Basinger has appeared only on TV films and series, until she finally landed her breakthrough role in 1983. Basinger was cast as Bond girl Domino Petachi in the James Bond film Never Say Never Again. The eighties were arguably the best decade in the actress’ career. Following the success of James Bond, in 1989, Basinger was cast for Tim Burton’s Batman, which remains the highest-grossing film of her career to this day.
