Faye Dunaway then
American actress Faye Dunaway started her acting career on Broadway. She made her first silver screen appearance in 1967 in the crime-comedy The Happening, for which she received mostly positive reviews. The late sixties were arguably the best years of her career; following her initial success, Dunaway moved on to star in major films alongside Jane Fonda, Michael Cane and other big names in the industry.
Her breakthrough role, of course, came later that years, with the critically-praised biographical crime film, Bonnie and Clyde (1967). The film was a box-office success that put Dunaway on the Hollywood map as a real actress; she’s also received her first Academy Award nomination for her memorable (an unexpected) performance.
