Susan Sarandon then
Today, Susan Sarandon is a household name in the U.S, but before she became a big star, Sarandon supported herself financially by cleaning houses. She received her first acting role in 1970 when she was cast in the drama Joe. The same year, she was cast for the soap opera A World Apart. In 1975, she landed her breakthrough role in the popular The Rocky Horror Picture Show.
From there, her road to success wasn’t long. Sarandon received her first Academy Award nomination in the early eighties, for her performance in Atlantic City (1981). All throughout the eighties and nineties, Sarandon has gained popularity and became an integral part of the entertainment industry, playing alongside some of the biggest names in Hollywood.
