Tina Turner then
Queen of Rock ‘n’ Roll Tina Turner is known for her long and prosperous musical career. It all began in the mid-1950s, when she saw Ike Turner perform at a local nightclub with his band. Anna Mae Bullock was fascinated with his music and his talent. One night she was allowed to get on stage and perform a song with the band, and Turner discovered her talent.
She joined Turner’s band and started recording with him in 1958 under the name Little Ann. Her first single to be released was “Fool in Love” in 1960, which was a hit. In the mid-sixties, she started releasing songs as a solo artist, which were all highly praised. That was the beginning of a very promising career.
