Walking Water Only
In many parts of the world, access to clean and safe running water is a luxury that is taken for granted. For others, access to any running water is a daily struggle. In these countries, getting water often means walking long distances to a river or well, carrying heavy containers on your back, and hoping that the water is clean and safe to drink.
Fortunately for Portugal’s citizens, their country is not one of them. Tap water is considered to be generally safe to enjoy and meets the rigorous EU standards in place. Although you can drink from the sink, people prefer to grab bottled water for drinking and use tap water for all their other needs.
