Better Call Saul
There are a few confused Americans who may think the United States has jurisdiction over Canada because they are neighborly nations with a lot in common. After all, they share a border, a language, and a love of maple syrup. But don’t let appearances fool you – Canada may be friendly, but they are also fiercely independent.
That’s putting it lightly. We can’t comprehend why anyone would think the United States can boss another independent, sovereign country around. International litigation is out of our scope of expertise, but we can tell you it just doesn’t work this way. Even individual Americans suing Canadians across the border struggle to have judgments enforced without Canadian court approval, so we doubt Canada would allow the US to force its borders open.
