Andy Warhol and Grace Jones, 1978
Studio 54, Andy Warhol, Grace Jones. Those were some of the biggest names in the country during the seventies. Before it became Studio 54, it was called Studio 52 and was used as a television and radio studio. During the seventies, the venue – located in Midtown Manhattan – was transformed in a nightclub and was rebranded as the notorious Studio 54.
Grace Jones, one of the most successful models at the time, and Andy Warhol, one of America’s most iconic artist, attended the popular night club on a regular basis (as well as other New York City nightlife scenes). On the night this photo was taken, the two A-listers attended the premiere party for Grease, which took place at the famous venue.
