Salvador Dalí, 1948
With today’s technology or basic Photoshop knowledge you can easily create a photo like this one or something even more obscure. However, this photo was created the old-fashioned way, before computers were around. Photographer Philippe Halsman took this famous shot of artist Salvador Dalí, in an attempt to capture his creative spirit.
It has become his most iconic photo and the one that perfectly portrays the artist’s creative mind. The photographer’s wife and daughter assisted in the process – they threw the cats and the water in the air at exactly the right moment, and the easel was suspended in the air using thin straps.
