In 2018, a significant YouTube event was taking place in the background: a friendly subscriber feud between two enormous channels, PewDiePie and T-Series. In order to help PewDiePie “win” this war and overtake MrBeast as the user with the most subscribers on the platform, MrBeast used his platform and his reach.
But Mr. Beast went beyond simply encouraging people to hit like and subscribe. He funded numerous billboards and TV and radio commercials, urging viewers to subscribe to PewDiePie. He even purchased multiple seats for his team during the Super Bowl, and he wore shirts that read “Sub 2 PewDiePie.”
