Did you know that back in the day, women could actually get arrested depending on the type and length of clothes they were wearing in public? It’s hard to imagine that when we live in an era where we see Kim Kardashian’s butt more than we see our actual family. Sadly, that was the reality for most women in the 20th century.

Even though the concept of women being arrested because of how they are dressed seems something outdated and insane, unfortunately, this is still a reality for many across the globe. Just recently, in August of 2022, a woman named Liliane Mugabekazi was arrested in Rwanda for wearing “shameful” clothing and faces up to two years in jail for “public indecency.”
