Shower Thoughts
We take our language for granted and we mostly don’t question the origin of certain words. A bed is a bed, a cat is a cat, and there’s nothing more to it, right? As Twitter user Anthony Martin reveals, some words – such as ‘bar’ – are actually acronyms. As he suggests, the word ‘bar’ represents ‘beer and alcohol room’. It makes sense, doesn’t it?

Perhaps this acronym was invented when the people at the bar had one drink too many and couldn’t say all three words properly, so they shortened it to one memorable word. Of course, we don’t know if that’s really what happened, but it’s a nice story, don’t you think?
