The best way to get 90s American kids excited for science was to roll in the squeaky TV cart and pop in a Bill Nye the Science Guy tape. He was more exciting than our dull textbooks with his catchy theme song and wacky experiments that were easy to understand. However, some people feel like pop science waters the real deal down.

It can be argued that pop science is important because it helps people who aren’t as scientifically literate as scientists and researchers to grasp the most vital points while keeping them relatively informed. Is it so bad that we just want to get the quick bullet points from a YouTube video?
