Not Everybody Loves Raymond
I try my best to see both sides when looking at why people love and hate the things they do, but I had actually Google why everyone seemed to love Raymond in the 90s because, to put it politely, it wasn’t for me either. The show was on air for nearly a decade, and while some would rather change the channel to Friends, Everyone Loves Raymond was an undeniable hit.
Those who hail the sitcom as a classic feel the show doesn’t just eject one cheap joke after another alongside a laugh track, but that they’re inside jokes only long-time viewers of the show can truly appreciate, and that makes them feel special. Like u/Meowmeowsuplex, I don’t think I have nine seasons of patience to dedicate to learning to love Raymond, but I’m happy for those who found him.
