Things People Wish They Never Said To Their Partners

July 28, 2012 by Jade Parker

We’ve all done it. Whether we were sweating from the heat of an argument or all our common sense was absorbed and forcefully expelled by a giant brain fart, everyone has had that mortifying moment they let something stupid slip from their lips to their partner. Redditors gathered in r/AskMen to share their most embarrassing mess-ups and offer an empathetic shoulder, reassuring each other they aren’t alone. Women also dropped by to chime in with their facepalm-worthy blunders and stories of things they wish they’d never heard from their boyfriends and husbands. When the OP asked men what they wish they never said to their partners, an overwhelming number of people thought they were unique and hilarious, answering, “Will you marry me?” and “I do.” We saw that one coming from a mile away, so we’ve cleared those from our list, leaving you with only the most touching and genuinely funny answers that might make your own story feel a lot lighter.

If You Love Her So Much, Why Don’t You Marry Her?

Almost all of us are head over heels for our mom’s home-cooked meals. The only thing better is Grandma’s. That doesn’t mean wifey can’t throw down in the kitchen; there’s just something about our mom’s cooking that takes us back to simpler times. It’s not something that can be replicated, even with a recipe.

But if we want mom’s pie, we should go to mom’s house instead of standing over our wives in the kitchen criticizing every culinary move. Would you still whip up your husband a homemade pie after this whoopsie, or would you send him back home to mom since he likes it there so much?
