15. White Castle
Even though White Castle has been around for decades, it received a significant boost in 2004 when the comedy Harold and Kumar portrayed it as a place that is worth having a visit at least once in a lifetime. The movie presents the friends as wishing to go to the joint so badly that they end up in unexpected turns during their journey to the castle. The reviewers’ description of the food, however, would make anyone question why the two friends wanted to go there in the first place.

White Castle has basic square burgers that are more often than not described as a sad square patty with a few chopped onions and American cheese. The fact that you can get them in a suitcase form appears not to play any convincing role as only 39% of consumers considered coming back for seconds.
