The mainly Mexican chicken joint put a bad taste in customers mouths, and only 43% of Consumer Report survey participants said that they would never return to El Pollo Loco.

While some of the criticism this fast food place has received is focused on its food, most of the complaints online and in the survey focus around customer service and the high prices for food. One reviewer wrote that the chicken was delicious “but chaotic, confused, terrible service”. Sometimes, that is all you need to bring a good place down.
