Proteus Syndrome
If you have ever heard of the famous Elephant Man then you probably know what we are talking about. Proteus syndrome is when the tissue, bones, and skin are overgrown. It is a mutation that can give the person a strange appearance like they are slowly expanding. Cells that have different sizes in the body are responsible for the syndrome occurring.
It can really affect someone’s physical appearance as you see here in the picture, and sadly it does not end well. The life expectancy for someone with proteus syndrome usually does not pass 29 years of age. It affects both sides of the body differently and the growths are random in shape and size.
