“Something” Picasso
Such a huge ship was undoubtedly carrying all sorts of valuable items. We mentioned that there was a Renault, but did you know that a Merry-Joseph Blondel painting was also aboard? After the ship sank, it was lost in the depths of the ocean forever. Only deep-sea creatures could appreciate the painting’s beauty.
In the movie, they make mention of one of “Something” Picasso’s painting being onboard. This, however, wasn’t true. Although Picasso was alive at the time, none of his works were on the Titanic. They were safely in his home, being thoroughly unappreciated by the public. Picasso was an artist who was truly ahead of his time.
