One Mighty Punch
Can you imagine a world where actors don’t actually hit each other during fighting scenes? We thought that if the directors wanted realism, they actually had actors karate-chopping each other for the cameras. Boy, were we sorely wrong. Instead, to get blood on their faces without stopping the shot, they’d resort to more primitive methods.
Here’s a shot after Rose punches Mark square in the face. If you freeze the movie at the right time, you’ll notice a red splotch of his hands. The next moment, he wipes it all over his nose. They did this, too, in LOTR: The Fellowship of the Ring, when Boromir cuts himself on a shard of Narsil. Sorry, we couldn’t help ourselves from referencing LOTR at least once.
