Weren’t Those Fastened Down?
Many of the objects on a boat’s deck are fastened down. For instance, the capstan needs to be bolted down, so that it doesn’t go colliding with people during emergencies. You’d think Titanic’s filmmakers would’ve known this, but even the tiniest detail can slip below the radar.
Here, we see objects on the deck in one shot, then we see a near-naked deck in the next. Things that were fastened down weren’t fastened down with care, and they all went down before the ship did. Like the captain and the orchestra, they were supposed to go down with the ship, not before it!
