This Little Piggy is onw of the oldest and most popular nursery rhymes in the country, and we all enjoyed wiggling our toes to it as children. However, it turns out the rhyme doesn’t necessarily mean what children think. Going in, we didn’t realize this list would ruin so much of our childhood memories.

Like most of us, this Twitter user thought that going to the market meant the little piggy went grocery shopping – and why would she think otherwise? However, as she later shared with the rest of the world, “going to the market” really meant the pig was heading to the slaughterhouse. The following lines are no better, when you consider this interpretation. Let me tell you, people weren’t happy about this disturbing revelation.
