The iconic characters of Disney are all animals, so it can be hard to identify their species. We all grew up believing that Goofy was a dog, but some people claim he’s actually a cow. It’s a scheme, that claims Goofy’s real identity as a cow has been concealed by Disney for years, for political and social reasons.

To be honest, we don’t buy that story. You can read all about it on the web, but we’ll take Disney’s version that he’s a dog. He looks more like a dog than a cow, for starters. Besides, it makes more sense for a dog to befriend a mouse and a duck. Or does it? I guess we’ll never know what animal Goofy is, but perhaps that’s part of the charm.
