As every third-grader learns, the four basic actions in math are addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. Even if you’re no math expert, you must be familiar with these four signs and how to use them – we practice using them all throughout middle school and high school.
Most of us take these symbols for what they are and don’t ask too many questions. Math could be challenging enough as it is, why complicate things further? However, this Twitter user shared with us this incredibly random realization: the division symbol looks like what it represents – fractures – a black fraction with dots as the numerator and denominator.
