Leave the Ancient Egyptian Statue Alone
Imagine how ecstatic the divers must have felt when they stumbled upon this previously unseen underwater beauty. Thonis-Heracleion was once Egypt’s most important harbor. The city was founded on the Nile and served as a key docking point for merchants and tourists to what would eventually become the city known as Alexandria.

A statue of Hapi, the fertility god, is what you see here. When the divers discovered temples, antique money, statues, and diamonds in the area, they couldn’t believe their eyes. The city was discovered in 2000, after it had been underwater for 1300 years. Now, let’s set our sights for Atlantis!
