Slow and Steady
These photos are a little disconcerting, to say the least, because it’s a driver-only underwater tunnel. We were intrigued by the idea that the tunnel was designed for driving but still had water flowing through it. From what we know about basic car maintenance, cars and water don’t mix very well.

The Baltimore Tunnel is a two-way tunnel that is 50-100 feet below the surface and is made up of two-way traffic. Local commuters use the road on a regular basis, and we’re just imagining how bad it would be at rush hour. Water spills into the driving lanes to help alleviate flooded lanes on the surface.
