Goodbye, Church
Consider the following scenario: fishermen are doing what fishermen do—fishing in the middle of a lake. Then they come across a church cross jutting from the lake all of a sudden. This was what actually happened in Tachira, Venezuela, back in 2008. Those fishermen found a church that was nearly completely covered in water!

Unfortunately, the Church of Potosi was flooded due to a human decision rather than a natural calamity. The city of Potosi was purposefully flooded in 1985 as a result of the construction of a dam nearby. Every inhabitant of the town was relocated to nearby places, and the town was flooded. What might shock you is that purposely flooding entire towns isn’t an uncommon practice.
