A Piece of Dark History
Italy, Japan, and Germany made up the Axis during WWII. These countries were aware of Germany’s influence and relied on Germany to lead them to victory. Many of their underwater operations relied heavily on U-boats, which kept US ships from delivering supplies to Western Europe.

During WWII, almost 3000 U-Boats were deployed, yet very few of them actually survived past the war. Today, only four intact U-Boats are around, while around 50 of them are completely lost in time. You can catch a glimpse of the fabled submarine at the Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago, Illinois.
