Upcycling Garbage: The Good, The Marvelous, And The Horrendous

April 11, 2012 by Jade Parker

From Boot Cut to Bag

You can’t have a list of upcycled items without one of the most common repurposing recipes of all: denim handbags. You don’t need to be a sewing expert to save your favorite pair of jeans from the trashcan. With a few basic stitches, you can whip up a bag that shows off that back pocket that used to go on your butt.

Whether you’re a fan of this remix depends on your dedication to denim. Some of us are still haunted by the all-denim couples look Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake served up on the red carpet in 2001 and will be skipping out on this one, but others will love it.
