#39: The Word That Different U.S. States Use to Describe Sports Shoes
Like anything, each place has a specific way of saying a particular word or uses an entirely different word to describe the same thing. Considering that the country is so big, it only makes sense that there would be different ways of saying certain words.

For example, in most of the United States of America, people describe sports shoes as “tennis shoes,” even when they aren’t specifically being used for playing tennis. A very small part of the East Coast and some of Florida say “Sneakers.” They seem like a small part of this story. In Chicago and Cincinnati, they say “gym shoes.”
