Spontaneous Combustion
If you ever have the chance to live in the country or the suburbs here’s an important tip. Never leave your grass or hay in a pile for too long. This issue is most commonly associated with bales of hay but can occur with almost any dry plant pile. Your piles may actually spontaneously combust!
Moisture accumulates within the pile of hay or grass and begins to attract bacteria. The bacteria causes the heat inside the pile to get higher until it can rise so much that it starts a fire inside. You might suddenly see a huge haystack all alight!
