Pay Attention in Class
There are lots of grammar concepts and vocabulary words that we learned years ago but have since forgotten. The acronyms i.e. and e.g. are often confused. People think of them as the same when in fact they mean totally different things.
The acronym i.e. means like and is based on the Latin word for that is. E.g. stands for the Latin phrase exempli gratia. The acronym is used when you want to give an example. I guess we should have payed more attention back in English class.
