Crazy in Love: People Share Their Comical, Wild, and Questionable Valentine’s Day Horror Stories

January 30, 2023 by Molly Reynolds

Welcome to the dark side of Valentine’s Day, where love isn’t always in the air and chocolates have been replaced with tears. We’ve scoured the internet and collected some of the most cringe-worthy, hilarious, and just plain bad Valentine’s Day stories from real people. Whether you’re single and loving it or just looking to commiserate with others who have had a rough time on the most romantic Day of the year, grab a box of tissues and a pint of ice cream because things are about to get real. These tales of Valentine’s Day gone wrong, from terrible gifts to disastrous dates, will make you feel better about your own love life (or lack thereof).

Love You

According to a recent survey, the average person takes about three months to tell their significant other “I love you” for the first time. But let’s be real; some of us are just way too scared to say it and end up waiting much longer. It’s a pretty big turning point in a relationship, after all!

On the flip side, some can’t keep it in and blurt it out after only a few dates. And then there are the truly brave souls who manage to sneak it into a text message. But however and whenever you choose to say it, ensure you’re genuine with your message. After all, no one wants to end up like the person in this story!
