#19: The Schlorwagen, 1939
How do some inventions from many years ago look more futuristic than the things we have today? There is something strange about living in a time when everyone thought there would be flying cars and hovering cities. It was almost as if everything around us was meant to change instantly but never did.
This is the Schlorwagen, built by German Engineer Hans Schlor Von Westhofen Dirmstein. The car was intended to encompass the shape of an airplane wing with its aerodynamic look. Considering that it was 1939, this car had a very futuristic feel about it… Even though it is now regarded as old, it has a very efficient CW value that is competitive with today’s cars.
