#24: Security Guard on US Highway 101, Surrounded by Hollow Iron Floats, 1953
Given the time passed since the last world war, it is hard to imagine when major Western countries were last at war. Considering that certain bodies of power have come into the mainstream in the last 50 years, it is safe to say that many wars have probably been avoided since their creation. However, some wars still occur.

This image was taken in 1953 when the United States participated in various aspects of the Cold War. These giant hollow iron floats acted as a shield to the highway, bringing necessary items in and out. This image of a security guard walking down the road all alone parallels the hectic nature of wartime.
