Making Ends Meet
Whoever complains about the rising cost of food has obviously never lived in Alaska and has no idea what it’s like for the people who live there to struggle on a daily basis to make ends meet. It costs eight times as much for food and other necessities to be purchased in rural areas of this state as it does in urban areas.
This new piece of information seems to have caught you off guard, doesn’t it? Having said that, the fact of the matter is that this is the situation. This is due, in part, to the fact that it takes food further to travel to this part of the country, which results in a longer travel time.
