Visual History Tour of the United States: The Oldest Photos taken in Each State

While some historical photographs show off some amazing and nostalgic sights from numerous states across the US, some don’t have too much to offer. That’s not to suggest that this image of Vermont is not to be cherished, but the image of 1852 depicts the Arms of the State of Vermont.

The symbol has not changed too much over the years, according to the photo. The top part of the coat of arms faces the opposite way today, however. They moved the corn and the cow a little bit too, but that’s pretty much it.
