Dolly Parton Vs. Porter Wagoner
Dolly Parton was in Porter Wagoner’s band for most of the 1960s and 1970s, writing “I Will Always Love You” for him, but she left in 1974. He sued her for breach of contract afterward; however, they made peace before he died in 2007.
“I don’t mean it in a bad way,” she told the LA Times in 2008, “but he was a real male chauvinist pig. That’s why we fought so violently; I wouldn’t put up with any of that…”
